Two Hands On Deck

about

Fetherstone, in collaboration with London-based producer Harry Tarlton, presents 'Two Hands on Deck’, the fourth instalment of her self-titled 4-track EP. Under the guise of Fetherstone, her new electronic-pop-folk infused persona, Australian songstress Briana Cowlishaw brings the tradition of the troubadour storyteller into the modern electronic pop genre through her innate passion for storytelling.

A note from Briana....

Often as artists we think we need to go the road alone, tough it out and struggle to make things work on our own, because we should be capable, right? In this fight to be strong enough, good enough, noticed, credited as an artist, I often find myself lonely, doubting my art and it's validity.

This song is about letting that go and celebrating collaboration. Letting people in to bounce off, create with and feel like you are part of something bigger than yourself. This track is intended to capture what it feels like that moment you let go - a feeling of release, weight lifted from your shoulders, excitement, playfulness ... and potentially a little party dance to celebrate!

LYRICS

The road is speaking,
It talks to me.
The road, is whispering,
Change tactics.
Go on, and open,
Those doors you’ve been watching oh.
Cause doors don’t open themselves.

I’ve been rowing my canoe,
Without knowing where I’m going to.
I’m sinking under soon I’ll have to,
Throw my ore in.

Cause I don’t need another morning crying here alone.
So take my hand it’s easier to steer a boat with two.
Two hands on Deck, oh.
Two hands on Deck, oh.

A rose is blooming,
Just cultivate the soul.
It’s opening.
A chance to feel alive, again.
Feel the power in your hands.
This road was made for us.

Two hands on Deck.

Help me, let me, keep moving forward.
Help me, let me, move on.
Help me, let me, keep moving forward.
Help me, let me, move on.

Cause I don’t need another morning crying here alone.
So take my hand it’s easier to steer a boat with two.
Two hands on Deck, oh.
Two hands on Deck, oh.
Two hands on Deck.
